A poultry uprising was something that was speculated by my partner-in-crime (my younger brother) and I some years back. Since chickens were almost always portrayed as docile farm creatures (the movie 'Chicken Run' being a notable exception), we wondered what it would be like if the chickens suddenly rose up against us.
Some slight nudging by my ever-encouraging brother eventually led to the creation of the poster [link]. It wasn't my intention to make the chickens communist; but I felt socialism would fit well with the chickens' intentions to liberate their kind from the yoke.
deviantArt is a wonderful place for inspiration. I took a gander at many communist/Soviet-style propaganda posters to come up with the look for the piece. Unfortunately, I can't remember whose works was it that inspired me, nevertheless I would like to thank deviantArt for making this a great place to share art and opinions.
All hail Commander Ravensfeather, and Power to the Poultry!
P.S. Dammit, I've got to get me grubby paws on a copy of Borderlands!
